Swifter Lambswool Sage
LIMITED EDITION Swifter Lamsbwool Sage!
We are proud to introduce you to our very first own locally spun yarn!
Last January, we were warmly welcomed on a family farm not far from here, where we collected a trunkload of lambswool (and Anke gave us the most amazing tour, thank you!!). They raise sheep (and other animals) that graze freely near the sea. Near the lambing season, when it’s time to bring them inside the barn, they need to be shorn first. This way the fleeces stay cleaner as well.
We took the collected wool to “Alles Wol”, which is located just 30 minutes from here. There, Marginus did his magic and spun the wool into this most beautiful yarn!
Wonderfully soft, and with a terrific character, this yarn turned out a 3ply which means the thread is nice and round.
The skeins weigh 100gr each and contain about 175m. I would recommend needle sizes 3,5mm to 4,5mm.
Swifter Lambswool Sage is hand dyed with indigo and spruce needles.
We are grateful that we had the opportunity to turn this wool (which was first considered a waste product, can you imagine?) into yarn for conscious craft(st)ers!
